Herbicide Spray Technician 

Location: Greater London

about the role

  • We are recruiting for a Herbicide Spray Technician, working predominantly in the Greater London area. The role is mobile, provided with a van, IT and equipment to service an existing client base.
  • Working Mon-Fri, this role needs a great deal of focus on the client and the accuracy of the survey and site report to give our customers the best solution.
  • Ideally located Leatherhead, Caterham or Sevenoaks.

What you’ll be doing

Applying herbicide using a knapsack sprayer and an injection gun to Japanese knotweed and other invasive weeds at residential properties, commercial sites and some open areas of land. Following established Standard Operating Procedures. Recording work carried out at each site using a web-based app on a tablet/mobile phone.

Based from your home address, within easy reach of London, you will be travelling and working on pre-booked activities and sites, visiting multiple locations in the day and occasionally staying away. You will be provided with a works van, fuel card, a mobile phone and tablet. All IT equipment is supplied to enable you to communicate remotely onsite and deliver the information back quickly.

Occasionally working with others to carry out works on larger sites that may involve specific H&S protocols.

What you’ll be doing

Apply herbicide from a quad and using a knapsack sprayer to control weeds and unwanted vegetation along highways, roadside verges, roundabouts, pathways, industrial sites, residential street, properties, and some open areas of land. Following established Standard Operating Procedures , customer specific RAMS and carrying out audits and equipment calibrations as required. Recording work carried out, and logging map distances covered, using web-based apps on a mobile phone.

Supervising the Amenity Technicians and co-ordinate the activities of sub-contracts to achieve Amenity Weed Spraying goals. This is a hand-on role applying herbicide from a quad and using a knapsack sprayer to control weeds and unwanted vegetation along highways, roadside verges, roundabouts, pathways, industrial sites, residential street, properties, and some open areas of land. Ensuring the teams following established Standard Operating Procedures and RAMS, complete van and H&S audits, and equipment calibrations.
