On March 6, 2025, our entire staff came together for a company day, uniting teams from the Environmental Controls Group, including Japanese Knotweed Ltd. This event provided valuable insights into our business’s progress and future direction while also serving as a great opportunity for team bonding and social engagement.
Stability and growth
During the event, we reflected on our achievements in 2024 and our strategic direction for the future. Last year, our group achieved a turnover of £4.3 million – our second-highest annual revenue to date and the second consecutive year exceeding £4 million. This milestone highlights our continued growth and stability in the industry.
Expanding Our Services
Our success is driven by an expanding portfolio of specialised control services. While our Japanese knotweed management remains a cornerstone of our business, we are seeing strong growth in other areas under the Environment Controls brand. Notably, our Invasive Plant services, including treatments for invasive bamboo and ragwort, which are gaining momentum year after year.
One of our fastest-growing sectors is Amenity Weed Management. Since securing our first contract in 2022, this unique service has quickly become a preferred solution for local councils across the UK, helping them effectively manage unwanted vegetation.
Additionally, our non-licensable Asbestos in Soils removal service continues to perform well. While available as a standalone service, it becomes even more valuable when combined with invasive weed removal, providing a cost-effective, multi-contaminant solution for our clients. Recent contracts highlight the commercial benefits of handling both asbestos and invasive plant removal – a truly integrated approach.
